JAKARTA – Metland School has established a collaboration with Parallaxnet. This partnership is formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Parallaxnet, represented by its sole distributor in Indonesia, PT Kimora Defasa, and SMK Metland Transyogi, SMK Metland Cibitung, and LPK/LKP Metland College. The scope of this collaboration includes technopreneurship education using Parallaxnet’s Learning Management System (LMS) platform. Parallaxnet, a U.S.-based company with extensive experience in technopreneur education, focuses on digital startup development, and the learning process will be conducted online.
“Additionally, students will be able to communicate with startup business communities in English across Parallaxnet’s global network, which includes countries like the United States, the Philippines, India, Indonesia, and others,” explained Mazhar Durani, CEO of Parallaxnet, during the MoU signing event at Metland School in Bogor on Tuesday, October 31.
The Learning Management System platform can be accessed from anywhere using various hardware devices such as PCs, laptops, iPads, and even smartphones with the lowest specifications, as long as there is an internet connection. Each student will be provided access to a dedicated Virtual Machine as a learning tool for practical purposes.
Mazhar highlighted that the goal of this program is to address the shortage of skilled human resources in the Information Technology (IT) sector in Indonesia, which currently faces a deficit. “Each year, there is a shortage of 7 million qualified talents in the IT sector,” he revealed.
In addition, the program aims to foster the growth of young entrepreneurs who can develop their businesses by leveraging digital technology as a foundation for entrepreneurship.
Mazhar Durani expressed his hope that Indonesian children would have equal career opportunities in the future, comparable to those in advanced countries such as the United States, China, Singapore, Japan, Korea, and Europe. “I hope we will see the emergence of figures like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Ma, and other global digital business leaders from vocational schools in Indonesia,” said Mazhar Durani.
In the same event, the CEO of PT Kimora Defasa, Dewi Setiawati Said, stated that her company was moved to actively participate in this program, as it felt a calling to contribute to Indonesia, particularly in the education system, through the technopreneur initiative led by Parallaxnet. She envisioned this program becoming a national initiative that could reach children throughout Indonesia, from Sabang to Merauke.
Meanwhile, the Head of SMK Metland, Darmawan, welcomed the Parallaxnet program, as it aligns with SMK Metland’s mission to produce skilled professionals in digitalization and foster talented young technopreneurs capable of making an impact on the international stage. “We are very enthusiastic about this collaboration because we have never encountered a 24-hour learning model using the virtual machines they provide to our students. The students can access it 24 hours a day, learning anytime and anywhere,” Darmawan explained.
The event was also attended by Dina M. Tiraswati, M.Pd (SMK Supervisor from the Regional Education Office I), Carlab Djumani, S.Pd, M.Pd (SMK Supervisor from KCD I), and Dr. Abur Mustikawanto, M.Ed., Head of the Regional Education Office XII. Dr. Abur stated that, representing the West Java Provincial Education Office, they fully support this partnership, which is the first of its kind in Bogor Regency. He hopes it will serve as an example for other schools to follow the program introduced by Parallaxnet to Indonesia.
“I am optimistic that this program will help the younger generation in Bogor Regency develop professional skills in technology and set a model for other schools across Indonesia,” concluded Dr. Abur.
